Short biography

Eleni
Petridou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She took up violin lessons under the quidance
of M.Michalidis and P.Arnaudov. She studied violin with D.Handrakis and
S.Gikontis in the Department of Music Science and Art in the University of
Macedonia and in the Department of Music Studies in the Ionian University,
where she finished with an A degree. She continued her violin studies on the
master degree with S.Gikontis in the Ionian University and she finished in June
2008. During her studies she attended the Masterclasses of S.Kafantaris,
A.Stankov, I.Vatikiotis, V.Milanova, V.Oistrach, I.Kravtchenko, J.Leertouwer,
N.Baltussen, E.Kawaguti, S.Gikontis, V.Beluska.
She has participated in a great number of concerts in Greece and abroad (South African Union, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Italy, USA.) with good reviews. She has played as a soloist in Beethoven's concerto for violin and orchestra with the Ionian University Orchestra and with the Symphony Orchestra of Volos and also with Athen's Camerata (string orchestra) with the conductor A. Myrat in the forth Mozart's concerto. She is cooperating with the Ionian String Quartet and the Ionian Baroque Ensemble. She taught violin in the public and private sector of Greece from 2001 until 2012. Since 2013, she has been living in Brussels and she is member of the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra. Moreover, she teaches the violin to children and adults.
